Make Smoking Illegal
For years now, smoking has killed or harmed thousands of people, whether it was the smoker him/herself or an innocent person. Back in the 1500 scientists, doctors, and people actually believed that smoking could help people and cure any medical problem anyone had. In the early 1600, tobacco became so popular it was like gold and used like money. Finally in the early 1800's scientists discovered what a harm it actually is to people, the scientists found the ingredient called nicotine which acted like poison and could kill people. As the years went on, people were figuring out even more dangerous things about cigarettes like cancer, lung problems and even more. This leading problem to death in America has gone on for too long, and something needs to be done. Smoking is horrible for the environment, even worse for people, and takes a bad toll on people's lives. It is time to put a stop to insanity once and for all.
Like Tony Newman from CNN said “Cigarettes kill; 400,000 people die prematurely every year from smoking. When we analyze the harm from drugs, there is no doubt that cigarettes are the worst.”
First of all, smoking not only affects people’s health but also affects the environment, smoke and cigarette butts are bad pollution to the air and water. Cigarette have over 4,000 chemicals in them which are being released daily by every individual that smokes.

When smokers leave their cigarette butts on the ground it leads to more pollution to our environment. Cigarette butts get into our grounds they affect our soil and plants. Another thing is cigarette butts get into rivers, streams, and lakes causing great damage to our water and animals in the water. The cigarettes pollute our water by all the tobacco and chemicals in the cigarettes floating around in the water and no one cleaning it also when in the water fish thinks it is food so they eat them and the poor fish end...
