The impact of the Transatlantic Slave Trade was immense. It ruined the lives of over 11.5 million African men and women. It kept Africa from growing more technologically advanced, and took away a good portion of the population there as well. The TAST killed over 15 million Africans just from the ship to and from their destinations. The slave trade stimulated warfare and corrupted laws, as well as stifled the technological advancement, and created a class of elite rulers and traders. The depopulation was immense, and the struggles of the impacts got worse each year of the TAST.

The economic factor was closely tied to demography. Because of the large number of able-bodied men and women were removed from African work force, it was only reason able to conclude the productive part of Africa suffered greatly. The middlemen and African Chiefs could only gain so much for their people, barely any supplies from the Europeans. On occasions, they would only obtain these items for other human beings. It said that because of the major reason that Africa didn’t experience an industrial revolution was because one apart of the negative impact of the TAST.
People argue that Africa was robbed of its best young minds, of its creativity in the arts, and of those who could have provided intellectual and positive commercial leadership. In the long run, African cultures, ways of life, and world of trade. They are decades behind the current technological world and it is because of the TAST. They are poor and don’t have as much as the rest of the world.
African society changed drastically after the start of the TAST. It became subtle and less and less of the people had anything. People became afraid of slave hunters, and feared for the lives of their families. Life became a world of fear and hostility between the people of the African continent.
