Proposed Upgraded software, hardware, and storage
Storage
The hospital industries has relied on its current systems for the past couple years, but with innovations and changes being made to keep with the IT trend, upgrades has to be made. The hospital is current on disk storage systems that are good for short term, but with long term cost of upkeep and maintenance would deplete the budget of the IT department. The recommended methods listed could reduce cost and maximize storage that would benefit the department and company. The system has to have redundancy to keep up with flow of information of the patients. Patient information will be accessible real-time from all the departments within the hospital and ensure that it is the most up-to-date information. Records have been current saved for ten years, but with our new system and backup storage system which will be offsite will hold records for twenty years before deletion. It is recommended that a centralized storage infrastructure is deployed to allow for shared data across the enterprise. An enterprise storage network will save time and money for the company.
It is recommended that a high speed storage device be installed like Network Attached Storage (NAS). The IT Data Center is hosted on Netgear ReadyNAS NVX 4TB DUAL GIGABIT RNDX4410. Centralize data from your local systems into one single storage device, reducing management headaches and instantly increasing reliability. Capacity can be added with zero downtime, and ReadyNAS supports both file sharing and server applications like Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server or VMwareÂ.
