Needs To Go Tonight (Narrative Essay)

If you were stranded on the side of the road, I would stop and help. I open the door for those coming through and hold it for those behind me. I am the go-to guy for many of my friends and family. I will go out of my way to help you out if I know it is something that I can do. I am learning that I am an overly helpful person and it tends to get me used by ungrateful people. One of the major instances is with my sister and her boyfriend.
To illustrate, my sister and her boyfriend were living with me for over 7 months. I did not charge them rent and I did not ask much of them. One of the arrangements we had was when I needed them to, they would watch my kids. Since they did not help with the food, rent, or any other utilities, they agreed to this. When I or my wife came home, they would ask to use the vehicles. It did not bother me to allow them to use either vehicle and every now and then, they would put some gas in it.
Meanwhile, I started noticing things that were no longer in my house. Movies that I thought I bought were gone. Games I thought I had were lost. My $400 MP3 player got misplaced and my food supply was dwindling, regardless of the fact that they were going to the food store once a week. Likewise, I noticed that my full tanks stopped getting filled or were left near empty without informing someone that it was in need of gas. Most of the time they would ask to use our cars to go to the store for food, but all they would ever bring back was soda. My house was well stocked on soda, but lacked the other food groups. On many occasions, they promised to get food for the house even though they had no jobs and no income. Little did I know how much I was being fooled.
I finally found out where their income was coming from when my wife gave me a call one day to tell me to look online at one of the bid and trade websites. I looked through my sister’s inventory of items for sale and I was shocked. She had my games that I play often and...
