My goal is to become a civil engineer at the University of Florida. By gaining admission into the University of Florida I will be on my way to receiving a good education that will allow me to reach my goals as a civil engineer
When I was younger, I always dreamed of becoming a civil engineer. This career field is special to me because people who performed these jobs designed things, others could not. For me, they represented importance. I know this meaning full event in my life had a huge impact on my path to a career in civil engineer.
Another meaning full event in my life, has been the support and love of my mother. As a Laborer for Spegi Brand Inc, she always mired in the importance for a good education, and a good career field. As a smaller child my mother brought me toys that I could build objects out of such as Legos, building blocks, and Jingo Blocks which brought out my love of building objects and working with my hands.
After entering high school I became even more interested in civil engineering. As a result of these meaning full events in my life, my love of engineering grew and I took classes in technical drawing, digital input, and advanced math. This enhanced my knowledge of this career field, in ways such as showing me the real world application of the math world, and also showing me how to transform an idea into physical form. Which was ignited by my passion for building objects, my mother’s influence, and my love of working with my hands.
After seeing the benefits that a civil engineer had to offer, I knew from that moment that I wanted to be part of this field. I am very pleased that civil engineer have tremendous expansion for improving the community, which will enable me to offer my skills to the University of Florida community.
If accepted I will leave a mark on the University of Florida engineering community by using my skills, from meaning full events which I learned as a young boy until this day...
