Hello my name is John Biko, and I am here to talk to you about the tyrannical rule of the National party for the past 43 years and the policy of apartheid. The national party is a group of individuals who for the past 43 years have been in power and seeking the advancement of the Afrikaner people who, despite their name have no heritage in Africa, they are simply white people who speak the Afrikaans language which is an Indo-European language derived from Dutch. These people have been enforcing a regime of tyranny and oppression for the past 43 years and I believe it is time to end this appalling infringement of human rights, don’t you?
I live in this the city of Johannesburg, I was born here and in the 30 years of my life, apartheid has been running rampant, people of different ethnicities kept apart from each other and apart from white people, now you may think apartheid to be a simple act of separating black from white but the intentions ran deeper than simple racial segregation.
I am classified as a black person and as a black person I am forced to live a sub-par life, during my childhood I attended a school purely for blacks, my education was at a dismal standard in comparison to that of a white child. After my poor education as a young child I attended a university set up for blacks and got a further education in literacy and politics, though again this education was at a lower standard simply because of the colour of my skin. I don’t know about you but to me this is a pathetic reason to deprive someone of education. Another by-product of my being black is I am not allowed to use the same public places as white people. To highlight the extremity of the segregation I am not even allowed to use the same public toilet as a white man would use, their need for separation is so great that people of different ethnicities are forced to use different toilets.
