Important Person

While there have been many people who have influenced my life, the one person that stands out the most is my father. My Dad has always been there for me and my brother, and has supported us financially and emotionally. He has been there for my mother and treated her with the upmost love and respect, which has set a good example for me. My father has influenced my life by supporting me in what I do and being a role model for me time and time again.
As far back as I can remember my Dad has been there for me and my brother. With him being active duty in the Air Force most of my childhood, it was sometimes hard for him to balance work and family, but he always put family first when he could. He has shown me that while work is important, you cannot let it completely rule your life. I do not remember a single time when he brought his work home with him, and he always comes home in a good mood no matter how ruff the day has been. When I was younger, he would gladly help me with my homework even if he was tired and wanted to relax.
Another reason that my father is important to me is because he has shown me how important it is to take care of your body. With him being in the Air Force it was required of him to stay physically fit, but even in retirement he has continued his rigorist exercise program. This has influence me to stay healthy and enjoy working out. He has shown me that exercise can be a great stress reliever, and can help get your mind of off things that are troubling you.
A few months ago my father was diagnosed with a very rare form of leukemia, and that nearly 90% of his bone marrow was cancerous. This came as a huge shock because to me, my Dad was invincible. Instead of feeling bad for himself and giving up, he attacked his treatment with vigor, and amazed the doctors and his recovery rate. Within a month the cancer was in remission and my Dad was back at work. This event influenced me to approach obstacles in my life with...
