Off Campus Policy Is a Must

Being stuck in the same school 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, and 222 days a year is not fun. Many students believe that they should have off campus policy during lunch. For this to work the school board would have to agree and allow lunch to be outside of school. High school students should be able to leave school for off campus lunch because it will give the community more money, be quicker, and will let everyone relax.
First of all, everyone knows that money is an issue in this controversy. This is what Lizzy Mahoney, who is a cashier at McDonald’s thinks:” With teenagers coming to McDonald’s we will be able to make a better profit, which could create a higher pay.” It is tough already to make a living working at a fast food restaurant. Many teenagers work at fast food restaurants as their very first job. So with students from my school going out to eat at these places it will allow workers to receive a higher pay. This way the community as long as teachers and students will be gaining something, not just the school.
Secondly if students are out of school at different fast food buildings we don’t have to worry about long lines, or waiting for a fresh bin of fries to come. Having students cram into a cafeteria is hard and it causes an endless supply of agony. There are 8 fast food restaurants between 3 main streets around our school. These places are definitely close enough to make it back to class on time. If there are 8 or more places to eat than one single lunch room, waiting in line won’t be as monotonous and slow. Teachers would also be able to go out and sit down from a hard day of work on their feet.
Most people may think that when students drive to lunch it will create more traffic. This may be true in some cases, but most adults are already at work in buildings away from the streets. For example BVNW is one of the many of schools who split their lunch times up. If our school had open...
