Barack Obama- Essay
Barack Obama is the new president elect for the United States of America in the coming 2009 year. During a time of great economic uncertainty Barack Obama has a mighty task at hand, leading the USA in what some would argue the most powerful position in the world. His life has greatly shaped who he is today as his parents separated at a very young age and lived some of his childhood in Indonesia. Baracks family life is a very interesting tale to tell as during some of his childhood he grew up with his grandparents acting as his parents. His political career has come into the spotlight recently as he has become elected president but goes back many years with some failures, but many great successes. Only time will tell if the young Barack Obama will bring the change to the USA that he has promised.
Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii August 4th, 1961 and is currently 47 years old. Barack Obama was named after his father, from Kenya. Baracks parents met in 1960 and married a year later, but separated 2 years later after Barack Obama was born. Barack only saw his father one more time before he passed away in a car crash. Baracks mother remarried to an Indonesian man, after which Barack and his family moved to Indonesia with him. He attended schools there until he was 10 years old, when he moved back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. Obama graduated high school in 1979 after which he moved to Los Angeles where he studied for 2 years, but later transferred to Columbia University. There he majored in political sciences with a specialization in international relations. Obama then went onto Harvard Law school in 1988 where he was selected the editor of the Harvard Law Review in his first year. He was a very accomplished man at a young age fighting through any obstacle he faced.
