The McGill
      The villain is the most hated character in every novel.   Sometimes the villain can be anyone from a criminal to a monster.   In the captivating novel Everlost by Neal Shusterman there is a monster named the McGill.   The McGill roams Everlost in search of souls to work for him on his ship.
      To get to Everlost you have to be off track going to the place that you were supposed to go after your life had ended.   The McGill had been in Everlost for quite some time.   Everyone in Everlost feared the great McGill because he was the meanest person in Everlost. Newcomers to Everlost never listened to the other inhabitants about the McGill and his wickedness.   Nick and Allie were determined not to stay in Everlost, so they set out on an adventure to find a way out no matter how long it takes them.
      On the way to find help to leave Everlost Nick and Allie learn new things and find new places. They come across people that warn them about the great dangers that lurk in Everlost. One of the most common stories is the one of the McGill.   Nick and Allie continued on their journey.   Nick and Allie found a place were all the afterlights stayed.   Their ruler was a girl Mary. Mary is like a mother to all the afterlights and they all love and can’t see past her fake image but Allie can.   Meanwhile the McGill is collecting souls for his display.
      Nick, Allie, and Lief were told about the Haunter and what he could do, so they went to him to learn how to skinjack. After Lief and Nick couldn’t do what the Haunter asked of them they were put in pickle barrels full of pickle juice.   Allie could do her task that the Haunter asked of her so he freed her and she left in search of a way to free her friends.
      The McGill then came to the Haunter’s old pickle factory and destroyed his soldiers and locked him in a pickle jar. The McGill left with the pickle barrels full of...
