"The easiest way to achieve a goal is by working hard, and the hardest way is by taking things easy". Although it may sound like a paradox, the meaning these few words convey is quite intense and those few individuals who realize this are the ones that have shaped human history. For instance Albert Einstein was famous for his contribution to Physics we know that he worked very hard and spent only 4 hours a day sleeping. It is but obvious that I cannot be considered in the same League as him or many others like him, however when I was in my 9th grade I had a clear view of the difficulties faced in life when trying to achieve such a huge goal. Astonishingly the best part about my achievement was that the difficulties I faced only sweetened the whole experience. I was selected to represent my country for 3 Handball competitions hosted by Sweden, Denmark and Spain. I had to play three famous European cups namely Partille (Sweden), Granollers (Spain) and Dronninglund (Denmark). We were a group of 20 people consisting of 6 main players, 8 substitutes and the support staff. The tournament was held during the months of June and July. Coming from a typical Indian (Gujarati) family where no one had ever taken sports seriously, I had a tough time convincing my parents to let me go. My family's reserved attitude prevented me from taking up sports as a career and they preferred to have me take care of the family business. I had already played for my state and being a good (Striker) was selected by the club to represent India. I realized immediately that chances like these came once in a lifetime and I certainly didn't want to miss it. Even though my parents weren't keen about letting me go I was eager to play. I pestered them day and night and eventually my efforts paid off. My parents agreed to let me play. This was the first time I was going abroad except being to Nepal. I was still in my 9th grade.
