ANIMAL RIGHTS

Some people say hunting is a tradition older than voting so it should be embraced by more and more people and some other have become sensitized to animal rights and begun rejecting hunting as a sport. Nowadays the animal protectors think that hunting animals just for pleasure, as a sport is actually inhuman. This is why we have to realize that animals are living creatures just as us, humans, and we do not have the right to treat them as if they are property and therefore to control their lives and we should not take pleasure from killing them.

Firstly, animals are living, breathing creatures, given a life just as we humans have. But there is a huge difference between the way animals live and the way humans live. They do not have people to help them, to take care of their babies for them, to cook for them, no family members for guidance and help – the things that humans tend to take for granted. In contrast, animals are on their own from the minute they take their first breath to the minute they take their last. Moreover, they have to defend themselves for survival with nothing except themselves, they have to build their own homes, take care of and protect their young. To them life is an extremely tough existence, and they have to make it with whatever they have and cannot demand for anything more. The world today is becoming less aware of the pain and suffering being inflicted on animals.

Secondly, humans do not have the right to treat animals as if they are property, as if we can own and therefore control their lives and what happens to them. This is immoral, animals are here for themselves, animals have their own lives, and they think, have feelings, feel pain, have families, and everything else that humans do. To just simply say that animals should have no rights because they are “defective” is a wrong statement!
