Maddy is just another deluded, missionary-activist type nutjob that bullsh*tted herself to the point where she refused to believe that her actions weren't doing any good.
Those type of people trek half away across the world, to foreign lands believing everything runs like their old neighbourhoods back home, and then show complete bewilderment when people like Danny Archer show up and destroy their little, isolated bubbles.
Your in a fcking warzone Maddy... wakey wakey time. Did you expect to be greeted by flower necklaces and African tribal music?

All those hippy-activist type corporations like Oxfam, World Vision, Green Peace, WWF (World Wildlife Fund), Amnesty International, UNICEF, CARE; go around the world thinking they can solve everyone's problems just like they do back home. With a little cash and some Christian encouragement.

Not realising in some parts of the world, machine guns are the only form of negotiation and God, i.e. whoever holds sway over the majority of the population is the usually the man with the biggest gun or most amount of AK-47 wielding maniacs.

I find it hilarious how ordinary people, particularly those influenced by the mainstream media, think they'll be able to cure poverty and turn around Africa's lawless plains with donations and sponsorship. Or by helping other people "find God", their lives will improve.

Give me a fcking break with all those "You can change the world" commercials with teary-eyed kids dying of starvation.

You can't do sh*t. Accept it already. Think of the billions that have been poured into 3rd world countries over the decades.

How far have we come? In Somalia, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Liberia, Sudan, Angola, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Laos, Burma, Kosovo, Nicaragua, Ecuador ...? All those countries were and still are failed states.
People living on less than $1 dollar a day, kids dying left and right, more land mines than flies and warlords fighting over aid shipments.
