Friend- a companion, a buddy, a mate. All words that indicate the same meaning and state the equivalent sense of the same word. Friend, somebody who trusts and is fond of another. Many people in this world believe that a friend is someone who you spend quality time with, and tell everything to. This can be from how your day went, to your deepest, darkest secrets. Almost everyone in the world has at least one friend. But if a friend is re-defined in this society so often, then how do we know what a friend really is? A true friend is not one with riches, and acquisitive objects, but someone who is filled with love, happiness, and trust. They are someone you can call at any hour of the day, and no matter what the situation, or how busy he/she are, they’ll find time to talk to you; somehow.
A friend is someone who knows who you are, understands where you’ve been, accepts who you have become, believes in your future, and still accepts the person you are today. A friend isn’t necessarily someone who you go out with every weekend, but someone who just listens to you, when you need it most. They’re there when times get rough, and you’ve fallen down. When the world turns their back on you, and you fall down, it’s your friend that gets you right back up.
A friend understands those contradictions in your nature that may lead others to misjudge you. You do not have to be careful with a friend, for they know you inside and out, better than you know yourself. A friend is loyal, and loving, and through it all and underneath it all, a friend sees, knows and loves who you truly are.
