Ten Seconds

My name is Ronald Green and this is my story. I have a large family and a small house. Life is hard and the only thing that keeps me going is to write about it. Takes out some frustration I guess.
In the day I’m a taxi driver and at night I become a limo driver. I have to deal with people all day and after three years of doing this job you figure out there are three kinds of people in this world. Nice people, mean people and the people who just don’t care.
They just assume you can’t do anything. I hate it and I hate them. They don’t talk to you, even people who are mean talk, just not in the nicest way.
Well today is going to be a different day. Today I’m going to make a change. I was driving the owner of a T.V station who thinks he’s so important that he doesn’t even need to drive himself to work anymore. He’s a waste. He was in the limo for about a minute before he rolled up the window and totally ignored me, so I figured why not go for a joy ride. I switch lanes now we are driving straight into on coming traffic. I start counting One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten. No cars were coming , he’s a lucky man he gets to live. The world doesn’t care about you unless something happens to you. Good or bad it doesn’t matter.
Life goes on I keep doing my jobs living my life the same thing over and over. Today I met a person who seemed to know what my life is like but today there are no exceptions it doesn’t matter I move into the next lane. Five seconds till impact I think of my jobs. Four seconds I think of my wife and my kids 3 seconds I think of my life and how I’ve wasted it. Two seconds I think of this man’s life and then I think maybe he’s going to do something with his life then at the last second I decide to turn away but the back end of the limo get clipped by the other car and we are sent into a barrel roll.
