Alien Abduction
The idea of life existing outside of what we know to be home can be quite interesting and attract the attention of the majority of people who are new to the idea. One cannot overhear a story about flying saucers, bald-headed life forms and not get caught up in the conversation. That is because it is truly an amazing idea, but the problem with amazing stories, is that amazing evidence is needed in order for it to be considered believable. What’s even more astonishing about the proposal that life exists outside of this planet are the stories about alien abductions. The various anecdotes about alien abductions became popular in the 60’s after the supposed abduction of Barney and Benny Hill. After that claim, various versions of the same story started popping up all over the place and the alien abduction phenomenon was born. Despite that, there are no other stars or planets within our reach that could sustain life, and even less likely, a form of intelligent life. Aside from the sun, the nearest sun, which is named Alpha Centauri, is about 4 light years away. When that is converted to a more familiar form of measurement, that would be equal to 24 trillion miles. Traveling at one million miles per hour would still take 2,500 years. The very thought of traveling that fast for that enormous length of time would be enough to ease the minds of most skeptics. It really is just not physically possible for any form of life to travel that much...
