My personal essay is going to consist of some of my personal traits that were described to me by the GEMS online website.   After reading my report it told me that I was a “People Oriented Achiever- a Team Facilitator” I couldn’t agree with it more. I couldn’t believe that after answering a few questions it would be able to tell me so much about myself that I didn’t know before.

My favorite description stated that I prefer to work with others and rely on them.   Being a crash and salvage crew men we I tend to rely on each other for support and to be able to complete our task. As firefighter work in pairs never acting as an individual but acting as a team to perform a rescue, we rely on each to be able to carry us out of a fire if we were to get hurt while performing a rescue. At work I have team of 4 guys we never go anywhere without each other.   I’m the crew leader for my crew I drive our truck anytime we have an emergency, they rely on me to get them there safely and they look for me to guide them in and out of fires. As crew leader my guys always look for me for training and guidance that’s one of the reasons why I started school because they always push to go but I never when and then one of my supervisors told me that it would be good for me and when I do my crew would follow me and two of them did, now all of to go do school working together and try to help each other out as much as we can.

Another assessment that I found very accurate stated “You are a person who wants to get things done”. Anytime I’m assign a task I like to set a due date for myself well ahead of the actual due date, that way if I encounter any problems along the way I can handle it and still be able to finish the job. Whenever I’m asked to do something at work I like to get it done as quick as possible that way it clear my schedule up for anything else I have set out to do that day....
