A Beautiful Mind

John Nash is a recent graduate of Princeton University and a recipient of the prestigious Carnegie Prize for mathematics. Along with Nash’s stay at Princeton was supposed to come a promised, private room, but instead he finds a roommate named Charles. After some time, Charles becomes Nash’s best friend, and he also becomes friends with a few other math and science graduates.
Nash has to come up with a thesis to present to the dean of the school so that he can be able to start his job as a mathematic. It is important to him to make sure that his thesis originates from his own ideas and does not come from someone else’s. Because of this, he is under a great deal of stress. After Nash is smacked in the face by a woman in a bar, he comes up with a thesis. This thesis is in mathematical economics, where Nash and two of his friends were offered a job at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While teaching at MIT he falls in love with one of his students and eventually gets married.
Nash is approached by the United States Department of Defense to crack codes for them and under Parcher watch. In his new assignment that he was given, Nash looks for patterns throughout several different places for plots by the Soviets. When Nash finds something, he is to write a report and put it in specified mailbox. Nash has become very paranoid and reaches the point in which he is unable to do his work.
When he was giving a speech at Harvard, he noticed a group of people watching him. Nash tries to flee, but he is unable to do so. When Nash wakes up from the sedation that he was given by the psychiatrist, he thinks that the psychiatrist was working for the Soviets. As a result, his desperate wife Alicia looks for answers and finds out that her husband is crazy.
