1. Transience
Explanation:
This is a general deterioration of memory over time, usually occurring with age. Transience is the cause of many memory problems.

Example:
An older person developing Alzheimer’s as they get older.

What problems can occur in your life?
As a psychiatrist transience can cause a problem, if I am trying to help a patient and their memory is slowly deteriorating. If I was the experiencing transience, I would not be able to treat people, because my memory would not be able to remember patient details, and it would be possible that I would not remember a lot of the things I learned while in school.





2. Absentmindedness
Explanation:
Absentmindedness is a lapse of attention and forgetting to do things. Absentmindedness occurs during the encoding and retrieval stage.
This can happen because of a preoccupation with distracting issues with concerns.

Example:
Setting a cup of coffee on the roof of your car, and driving off with it still on your roof. Misplacing your remote control or car keys, or going to do something and when you get to a different room you cannot remember what you were going to do.

What problems can occur in your life?

Absentmindedness is something that I feel is very common. In any profession it can be troublesome, for example, to misplace patient files. This can be troublesome and also a threat to doctor – patient confidentiality.

3. Blocking
Explanation:
Not remembering a memory, the memory itself is not lost, but temporarily forgotten, but can be retrieved at a later date....
