Why do I attend this course?

Personal Development

Not having finished school to the fullest potential has been causing problems throughout my professional life as a Sales Manager in the Information Technology sector. Colleagues got promoted faster or were able to change jobs with the aid of a degree and high level education. It is very obvious that having a good education is the best foundation for a successful career. With a skill set that lacks in-depth knowledge of maths, economics and accountancy, it will always be difficult to apply for high profile jobs as employers naturally tend to select the professionals with the best qualifications.

This is especially true for the Information Technology and Computer Science sector I work in. This area has evolved and developed at tremendous speed in the past 10 years. Technology is shifting and IT based companies are changing their IT infrastructure from vast amounts of Hardware in Server farms to virtualizing their IT onto minimal equipment based on Software, which can be accessed and maintained remotely. As a result the adequate technical knowledge is just as essential as taking into consideration that with the changes in technology the business models will change and sales strategies will have to be amended and adapted to stay successful. I believe that it is vital to stay informed, properly trained and open for new things to be able to participate in today’s world and environment.

Positive impacts on career
As the world continues to get more complex, having the right skills and knowledge is becoming more important and requires further education to remain in good standing. This is especially true in the fast-paced technology field, although many other professions need to continue to develop the skills necessary for today's changing environments.
