Game Informer vs. Game Informer
With the new issue out, I have chosen to compare the monthly to monthly issues of Game Informer. The advertisements, articles, setup, and games are so different and yet very alike at the same time, although an overall analysis has revealed that they’re primarily equal.
The advertisements were all placed roughly in the same locations as the previous issue, but they were for many different games. For example, the cover page and biggest advertisement of the newer issue was Dragon Age Origins. This was not mentioned at all in the previous
issues. The table of contents had some of the same games in each issue like Far Cry 2 (PG 1/2), but it was a different picture for the same thing.
Page 20 in both magazines have an article called “Connect.” It’s a monthly article about all of the breaking news, views, and technology from the gaming world. Last month’s Game Informer contained lots of hints and cheats for the games out on the market currently where this
month’s was about the most anticipated game and concerns about of how many Wii’s will be in stock at Christmas time.
Both magazines have reviews for what they call game of the month. Last month’s issue was listed on page 96 and this month’s was listed on page 110. Last month’s game was Rock Band 2, and this month’s is Dead Space. Last month’s game was heavily advertised in this month’s issue, so I would imagine that in next month’s issue there will be some advertising for this month’s game of the month.
The table of contents was setup exactly the same way in each issue with the picture sizes and locations. All of the page listings for the articles were also in the same exact spot. They were different games, but my review has shown that they continue to use the same...
