Legal Issues in Reduction of Workforce Simulation
Fast serve; Incorporated is a $25 million company whose main product is direct marketing of branded sports apparel. The company has recently decided to end its online retail outlet. The shutdown of the online distribution service led to the reduction of its workforce. A couple employees will have to be laid off with the remaining employees retained with new job descriptions. Work productivity, reliability, skill sets, educational background and employment status will be key in retaining employees also employment law will have to be taking into account. The five employees considered for layoff are Carl Haimes, Brian Carter, and Sarah Boyd, Nora Manson and Jenny Mills. The table below will demonstrate the legal concept that relates to the employment position of these workers at FastServe (University of Phoenix, 2008).
