My first long term goal is to become an elementary school teacher. To accomplish this, I have the following short term goals:



* Complete 16 hours of continuing education credits
* Complete one year of student teaching in an elementary school or private school
* Receive my B.A. in Elementary Education with a GPA of 3.5
* Complete my Virginia certification requirements
* Apply to Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) for an elementary school teacher



In order to achieve these short term goals, I will need to complete them as follows with the expected date of completion.



I will finish 16 hours of education credits by June 2009. To accomplish this, I plan to participate in the Northern Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children and other education workshops. This goal should be fairly attainable since there are plenty of workshops to choose from.



I also will finish one year of student teaching by June 2010. I plan to be a full time teacher at Accotink Academy for the next school year. This short term goal is not that difficult. I will just need to put forth more time to dedicate to my career and adjust from working part time to full time.



I will have completed the University of Phoenix by August 2010. I also will have earned a B.A. in Elementary Education. I am hoping to have a GPA of at least a 3.5. This sounds easy as of now, but further into my studies and harder classes, I may find that it will be a challenge. With hard work and dedication, I am sure that I can achieve this goal.



I would like to have applied and completed my certification for Virginia by June 2011. To do this, I must first earn my degree and complete my year of in-class training. I must also pass and submit my test results for the PRAXIS...
