Gay Rights Now, Gay Rights Tommorow,Gay Rights Forever

As a country, America has a tradition of knocking down and annihilating the norms of our society that have become outdated. We study history, mainly, to avoid making the same mistakes over and over again. If the U.S. bumps it’s head on a low ceiling we will duck next time. But when it comes to gay marriage we just can’t seem to remember to duck, so we keep hitting our heads. If we don’t come to our senses soon we are going to have permanent brain damage as a country. Do we want to be remembered in the history books as the generation with the power to right a grave injustice, but instead just stood by and let hate win. In Dante’s Inferno there was a special place in Hell reserved for those who just sat on the sidelines, watch the battle, and then go for whoever is winning. We hold these troops as evidence that all men are created equal, they are endowed by their creator with certain inaliable rights…the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These are rights that can never be taken away as long as you live in America. Now let’s try to make that famous line from our own constitution a true statement. Because right now it’s just an opinion. There are huge numbers of U.S. citizens being denied “inaliable rights” given by our constitution. Our constitution is the groundwork for our laws & beliefs as a country. Denying gays the chance to marry and live happily ever after is a road block getting in the saw of their pursuit of happiness. We are all created equal…so let’s start acting like it.
