A fighter plane is flying above you, all of the sudden you hear a loud noise. What is that? Why it’s a sonic boom. The first article that I read was about what creates a sonic boom. Well what is a sonic boom? Well I will tell you. First you need to that a plane produces sound waves as it moves through the air. Usually the sound wave travel at a speed of seven hundred miles per hour. Now when a plane goes faster than the sound that it produces then it makes a sonic boom. That being said you still have the question of why. The answer is that when the plane moves faster than sound then the sound waves that the plane has combines with the sound it is making. This action amplifies the sound that is made. At the moment that the plane goes faster than sound you do hear the sound but one or two seconds later you will hear it.
There are many different type of sound that all sound different one type of sound is called white noise. That is what I read my article on what causes white noise. The term white in white noise come from the same type of though process as white light. White light is all light that you can see combined into one beam of light. In another words white light is a combination of all noise that a human being can hear at one time. Say you had a piano and it had every single note that a human could hear if you were to hit all keys a t the same time that is what white noise is like. The human brain can only process a certain amount of tones at a time. When there are too many noise going on at the same time it all sound like one big noise. Like say you had seventeen radios. You play every single one at the same time. They are all playing some different station and song. You will not be able to tell buffalo soldier from iron man from some random Mexican thing. It will all sound like one big noise, white noise that is.
