In today’s society you can turn on the television, open up a magazine, or switch on the computer and have oodles of information spewed at you, wheter it is releavent to your life or not. Depending on what season it is, what upcoming holiday is approaching, or even what year it is you will see the types of information differ. As we approach the 2012 Presidential Elections we are starting to see lots of advertisiements and media coverage on the candidates, as well as the incumbent. Information on the candidates is out there, but it leaves us posing the question; how accurate is the information? The only way to answer that question would be to stop taking everything the media says word for word, and take the candidate research into our own hands and find out what is true and what is not. The following the paragraphs will give insite on the current candidates, their biographys and what they stand for, in order to get rid of the question asking, and have solid factual answers.

The President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama II is the democratic candidate for the 2012 Presidential Election. He was born to Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr., on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother was born in Witchita, Kansas on November 29, 1942. She was an athroplogist that received her PhD in anthorlogy from the University of Hawaii. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was born on June 18, 1936, in Rachuonyo District, Kenya Colony. He came to America in 1959 to attend the University of Hawaii, where he met Dunham, and completed his B.A. in Economics. He then atteneded Haravrd’s Graduate School for a short time after the completion of his bachelors degree. Obama’s parents were married from 1961 – 1964; after they divorced both ended up getting remarried and Obama Sr. moved backed to Kenya becoming a Government Economist for the country.
