Salam and good morning I bid to Mdm Catherine and fellow friends.
First of all did u know what is a TBL stand for?
Perhaps u might say that it is a technology based learning or U might even say that it stands for team based learning . However, what I’m going to talk about is related to team based learning and my topic for today is Essential Elements for TBL.
Before we look at the elements of team based learning, I would like to give an overview of TBL so that u can get the gist of it and will be able to understand more about my topic.
TBL is a collection of practices that support one another for instructional(teaching) effect and it relies(trusted) more heavily than any other commonly used instructional strategy.
Why it is so ?
1. With TBL, group work is central to exposing students and improving their ability to apply course content.
2. The vast majority of class time is used for group work.
3. Courses with TBL typically involve multiple group assignments that are designed to improve learning and promote the development of self managed learning teams. So that they are able to learn by themselves.
TBL is designed to provide students with both conceptual(based on ideas) and procedural(ways of doing something) knowledge.
The first step in TBL is RAP or readiness assurance process. This process consists of short test to ensure the students readiness before they perform TBL through individual test and team test. These in order for the student to come up with a consensus on a certain decision making process.
Now let us look at the elements of TBL.
4. Assignment design.
PROPERLY FORMED AND MANAGED GROUPS.
