Sex is becoming a subject that is no longer kept behind closed door, or something to be ashamed of, but rather the subject matter is being embraced, and even becoming the latest trend amongst the younger generation. Usually growing up, entering years of puberty every teenager has “the talk” with their parents about when the time is right for them to engage in sexual activity, followed by the consequences of either catching a sexually transmitted disease or becoming pregnant. In the rising generation there are more and more, young females ranging between the ages of 15 years old to 17 years old being sexually active thus leading to a rise in pregnancy rates. This also leads to young females searching for a way to have sex without being at risk of becoming pregnant, which is solved by birth control. Birth control is seen as the quickest, easiest and most efficient way to avoid pregnancy. But it is quite of that people are not aware of the different impacts that birth control has on ones body. Taking birth control can bring about health issues, and negatively affect ones physical features and emotional state.
There are different types of birth control, finding which one is compatible with you body is a task in its own. Some of the methods are the pill which is taken once a day and alters your hormones, Depo - Provera which is an injection that is given on a three month basis, the birth control patch which is a sticker placed on the skin containing hormones on the adhesive side and there are several others. Each method of birth control serves the same purpose and they all have side affects.
