The word ‘diet’ literally means the food and drink usually consumed by a person. And the diet that is responsible to reduce weight is known as weight-loss diet. The body weight plays a vital role for a human body. To maintain good health and to have a good life span, the body weight should be controlled and this depends on the number of calories we consume and exhaust daily. Though everyone is aware of this and know the importance of body weight, problems like obesity and overweight are arising and creating health crisis all over the world which is a bad news. So, to minimize this problem, people should follow weight-loss diet, which can be divided into three types: using weight reduction pills, following special diet plans, and eating food moderately that contains high nutritional values.
The easiest method to lose weight is by using weight reduction pills. These pills are herbal drugs or chemicals that help in removing the fat from the body which in turn reduces body weight. Now, what do these pills really do? They decrease the appetite and/or increase the metabolic rate of the body. Also, in some cases they reduce the stomach size so that it becomes full though very less food is consumed. But, this is not at all a safe option and should be least preferred as it may cause side effects like vomiting, convulsions, etc. and can also cause damage on other parts of the body like heart, brain, liver, etc. Moreover, these pills should be used only when prescribed by the doctor and only if it is known that the weight loss does not affect the health and life. Digoxin is an example for a pill that treats obesity by decreasing the appetite and the desire to eat more food.
The other way of weight-loss diet is by following special diet plans or charts. The main cause for obesity is due to over eating that is either by consuming calories more than necessary or by burning less calories as compared to those of consumed which turn into fat. So, these special diet...
