Gap Analysis: Global Communications
Global Communications is facing economic issues. The Global Communications lack organizational communication amongst its stakeholders. McShane and Von stated, “Effective communication is vital to all organizations because it coordinates employees, fulfills employee needs, supports knowledge management, and improves decision making” (p. 324). The Global Communications has come up with new strategies to improve its profits and to stand by its competitors. For all these years, Global Communications had good employee relationships but, with the new decision made Global Communications is facing a challenge to negotiate. They believe that, this will be a hindrance to their rapport with the employees and it would not be make a good impression as it reflects a rational decision made amongst the stakeholders as well as to the employees which could possibly lead to the organization dissolving.
Situation Analysis
Issue and Opportunity Identification
Global Communications had developed new plans to make the company profits. They failed to involve the stakeholders while making new decisions. There is lack of organizational communication between the stakeholders. The factors that effect the organization are the succession of conflicts resulting in depreciation of organizational commitment concerning job security and emotional intelligence of the employees. McShane and Von stated, “Organizational commitment improves customer satisfaction because long-tenure employees have better knowledge of work practices, and clients like to do business with the same employees. Employees with high affective commitment also have higher work motivation and organizational citizenship, as well as somewhat higher job performance” (p. 127).
