RAPTURE
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? “No” says the man in Washington, it belongs to the poor. “No” says the man in the Vatican, it belongs to God. “No” says the man in Moscow, it belongs to the people. Well, I chose a different way, a better way. I chose…..Rapture. Come with me as I show you and explain to you how Rapture is a perfect world.
Rapture, being 600 fathoms under the ocean’s surface, is isolated from the outside world apart from the lone tower sticking up out of the Atlantic Ocean. The power supply for Rapture is eco-friendly….the volcanic vents at the bottom of the sea. This energy is captured and then sent through a system that uses the heat from the vents to create electricity for all of Rapture. The buildings of Rapture look just like any other buildings you might see, just under water. Rapture has hotels, extravagant restaurants, even a park for you to take a leisurely stroll in.
I say that Rapture is a wonderful place, and it is, but only for the select few I decide to bring with me. You see, it takes visionaries to see the beauty in Rapture and why I created it. A normal person you see on the street might think it crazy to build a utopia under the sea, but some people, like me, can see the genius of such a place, a place where everything is truly made by the people, for the people. I shall only take the greatest artisans, musicians, technicians, doctors, and visionaries of this current day and age. For example, one of my favorite bands is Disturbed. I shall extend an invitation to them and see how they respond, just as I shall to all the bands, doctors, technicians, and all the others I wish to invite. I do wish that they respond in a positive way, but it is up to them to decide whether or not they go. I shall not force anyone who doesn’t wish to go to go against their will.
