The concept of "governance" is not new. It is as old as human civilization. Simply put "governance" means: the process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented (or not implemented). Governance can be used in several contexts such as corporate governance, international governance, national governance and local governance.
This refers to the ways the public institutions delivered to the public. The institutions are supposed to function for the public good. If there exist transparency, fairness, efficiency, decency, accountability and public participation that means good governance. In short it is the optimum utilization of resource for the nation. Each nation’s path to good governance will be different depending on the culture, geography, political, administrative traditions, economic conditions and many other factors.
