Because I said so! Four strong words that bring this relationship between mother and daughter in this movie to a stand hold. “Because I said so!” defines automatically how this relationship will begin out. Daphne, the beholder of the words: “because I said so!” has the over protective motherly genes. She has three daughters, two of which are married, and the third, Milly, a caterer, still to be married. “Because I said so!” explains everything.
This movie, aborts free will. Milly, the youngest, of the three is being held at what you can call motherly ransom. Just take away the beg for money, and add in the beg for a man to marry. Milly, is held in isolation. She has her mother Daphne shadowing her like an annoying blow fly, BUZZ! The obstacles that this couple face are the interference of momma Daphne. Daphne, she just wants her daughter to love. To be loved. Daphne doesn’t want Milly to turn out like herself. Daphne, the interfering mother goes through a lot of stretches to get Milly to love. Nothing and no-one will ever be perfect unless Daphne meets and approves for herself. Why: “Because I said so!”
So I guess, joining an online dating service to meet these men is nothing too much out of the ordinary is it? Just as long as Milly never finds out, everything will be okay.
Date 1 2 3 ……………16 all pass the fail test. Meaning they’re never going to be introduced to Milly. Why: “Because I said so!”
Milly and Daphne overcome this obstacle, when Milly finally satisfies her mother and dates what Daphne calls ‘perfect’. But ssshh, Milly doesn’t know...
