Executive Summary
This report evaluates the way that Lenovo uses its YouTube Channel (Lenovo Vision) and presents recommendations for the improvements of social media communication.
Purpose to Use
In 2007, the company established its official channel on YouTube for product promotion. The channel is named “Lenovo Vision”.
How Does Lenovo Arrange Lenovo Vision’s Interface?
Lenovo divides the channel into 5 parts:
* Heading: contains logo, main menu and several links
* Video display area: conspicuously located below the main menu, contains video description and a play lists
* Information board: displays channel name, introduction and traffic statistics
* Activity board: displays Lenovo Vision’s recent activities
* Subscriber: shows the channel’s latest subscribers
Posting Videos on Lenovo Vision
The organisation creates introduction videos for each of its products. Videos are created to demonstrate outstanding features of Lenovo products. Most videos are less than 3.5 minutes. They are time efficient and tend not to get people annoyed.
Functions of Lenovo Vision’s Sociable Features
Lenovo Vision enables visitors to comment and rate the videos. These sociable features allow the company to collect feedbacks from the channel audiences. Feedbacks are collected from these sociable features to enlighten the company on product development.
