The Deniers of the Holocaust
Doubters of the holocaust were once able to get attention from a great amount of people, trying to convince people that the holocaust is a hoax and such events like the gassing and the mass exterminations of Jews has never happened. The first Holocaust doubters even claimed that all the talk about the Holocaust was made up by the Jews and all the pictures and videos were made in the Jewish cinemas. Although these debaters are not as active now as they were years earlier, they were successful in getting many uninformed people to believe them; they did it by mixing facts with their own opinions. Without giving any respect to the people that lived through and survived the Holocaust, many people prefer to bring up doubtful examples to prove that the holocaust never happened in an attempt to reach their goal in promoting Nazism and fascism and/or eliminate the state of Israel.
According to Michael Shermer and Alex Grobman the “[d]enial of the Holocaust itself took off in the 1960s and 1970s…” (40) During these years many people wrote different novels trying to claim that the Holocaust was nothing but a hoax. Out of one of those novels “… the three pillars of Holocaust denial [were created] – no gas chamber, no six million murdered, no master plan…”(Shermer and Grobman 40) The Holocaust deniers were successful to get a great amount of people to believe them mainly because they used sources to prove their opinions, although, many of these sources were not considered to be reliable since it was mostly newspapers. Also some of the main Holocaust deniers after many years of research and findings started to slowly add on events that could have happened that they previously rejected. Some even ended up with believing that the Holocaust was a real event and they stopped denying it.
Most of the people that deny that the Holocaust existed are against Jews and are considered to be anti-Semitic or are against a Jewish state Israel. The main goal...
