Euthanasia should not be instituted as a legal practice in Saudi Arabia. I believe in this point of view after thinking for a while about the issue of making euthanasia as a legal practice from different perspectives.
First of all, we as Muslims who believe in no god but Allah are clearly against euthanasia or what’s called “Merciful Death” we as Muslims know that Allah is the one and the only one who created all of the human beings, therefore we think of life as a sacred gift, which is given by Allah and he’s the only one who can put an end to it.
To think of terminating the sacred gift of life that is given by Allah is against our region and shows nothing but lacking of faith in the only one whom we shouldn’t think of in such a disrespected way. God as we learned from the prophet tends to test us by making us suffer to bring the good in us and make us believe in him as the only giver of life.
From another perspective, we should think of the results of allowing euthanasia in Saudi Arabia. I’m not being darkly thinking, but I assure I can think of the bad and ugly results of allowing euthanasia. It can make us undermine the lives of those unfortunately disabled or sick people in our society. Also it will make doctors and nurses who’s trying to everyday to provide good and even excellent care of their patients, to undermines their efforts and think of saving it for other people who have luckily bigger chance in surviving. Also it will put a lot of moral pressure on the relatives of sick people to just decide ending their lives lacking for faith in Allah because of being very sensitive after all f the suffering they se in hospital. And let’s not forget how hospitals and health care become insanely expensive in a bureaucracy way. By allowing euthanasia they’ll think unconsciously to cut costs and free us the medical equipment for others.
I was thinking of me being in hypothetical position of me being the one who’s suffering in hospital. Am I going to...
