The world of Psychology can be studied from a scientific approach as well as an everyday life approach, both substantially different in the method followed, the way evidence is collected and the language of communication. Science has proved to be crucial in the study and evolution of Psychology due to the validity and rigorous approach it follows to lead us to getting it ‘right.’

A fundamental difference between scientific approach and everyday approach is how the set of rules governing the scientific method are applied; this is not efficient in everyday life. In using the scientific method we wish to have objectivity that is not required in everyday life. Science is openly available to the public and affects the public as it attempts to manage vulnerabilities, such as bias, present in everyday life.
Another substantial difference in how we do Psychology is the way evidence is collected. Science practices a systematic approach to finding and collecting data that supports and refutes the relevant system, thus, collecting all pertinent data whether it is positive or negative. Contrarily, in everyday life, we tend to be bias in collecting data, focusing on what supports our happiness and denying what does not. The whole reason for collecting data is to provide us with rigor, objectivity and justification of our conclusions.
The language of communication used in approaching Psychology scientifically opposes the language used to communicate in everyday life. Science does not value literary beauty as highly as everyday life. The goal is to strive for precision and clarity in science, leaving little room for ambiguity. Unfortunately, there is a price to pay, which is a of loss of entertainment which everyday life provides due to the ambiguity of everyday conversations, movies and books. In everyday life literary beauty is valued highly because it keeps us engaged and allows us to project our desires onto characters or ideas.
