Makela Rae Toth Sr. Parker 9-18-10 “The heart has eyes which the brain knows nothing of.”- Charles Perkhurst My mama has always told me, “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” Simply saying listen to your heart- which is the best journey you can take, considering you have to use your mind to navigate. In my opinion, the heart says what it wants and the mind figures out how to make it possible, and then does it. The mind gives off too many details and suggestions and your heart simply lays out the truth. Therefore, the heart sees more of the truth through emotion and feeling, whereas the mind knows nothing of that nature. When trying to accomplish something; such as a dream, you should also follow your heart. Your mind only allows you to do what you have already done. The mind to me, does not know how to make your dreams reality. For example, my daddy’s dream as a young boy was to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a pharmacist. One reason I feel this way is because the heart is nothing but the whole truth. The heart is never blind and the mind can be very deceiving at times. When one follows his/her heart when falling in love, he/she gets the feeling of joy and happiness. This makes the quote “Following your heart is a key to happiness” true. In a relationship, one has to use their heart to love and care for the other person. Unlike the mind, the heart produces the emotional appeal and chemistry between two people. Contrasting from the heart, the mind can be brainwashed, while the heart will never be influenced by others.
