Procedure
First, my group and I gathered our materials. We used the syringe to collect gas from the surroundings and once the desired amount of gas was obtained in the syringe, we put the syringe through a whole in a block and closed the syringe with the cover. We then recorded the initial volume of gas in the syringe before the books were placed on a block on the other end of the syringe. After measuring the volume, we applied the books onto the block above the syringe. We added the books one at a time, and each time a book was added, we measured the volume. We added a total of 10 books and compared the number of books to the volume of the gas to find the relationship between the two.

Analysis
1. Graph 1 attached to write-up.
2. Graph 2 attached to write-up.
3. What type of relationship is shown by the number of books versus volume in the graph?
In the graph, an inverse proportion is demonstrated, as shown in Graph 1. As the number of books increase, the volume of the gas in the syringe decreases. The number of books and the volume of the gas are inversely proportional to each other.
4. What is the slope of the line of the number of books versus the inverse of the volume in the graph?
slope = y2 – y1 = 2 – 1 books = 1 book = 200 books/L
x2 – x1...
