BACKGROUND
Chai Sacco Ltd is a saving and credit society founded in 1973. it drew membership from Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA) head office. Due to its good management and staff dedication Chai Sacco Ltd have had a steady growth in form of membership and currently have over ten thousands active members drawn current and retired employees of KTDA, staff immediate family members, organization involved in tea industry such as East Africa Tea broker, Chai Warehousing. It also registers members from well-established institution with commitment from their employers, expressing willingness to remit their contribution through check-off system.
Corporate vision: To be the leading, modern and dynamic savings and credit co-operative society in Kenya, working towards providing a one-stop shop for all members’ financial needs.
Corporate mission: to mobilize savings from existing and potential members with a view to providing credit, thereby building an economically empowered community in the co-operative spirit.
Chai Sacco Ltd is headed by the General Manager who is the Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) and the Deputy General Manager. It has the following departments:-

1. Customer service department
This department involves different activities and some of them are, statement production, pin issuing, Automated Machine (ATM) requests, ordering cheque books and issuing cheque books to the customers, raising entries for unclaimed balances, checking balances for the customers, charging ENC commission and many more.

2. Cash department
This department involves KRA payment e.g. Land rent, Stamp duty, and IDF’s, VAT checking, ATM cash summary, payment and cancellation of bank cheques, loading and offloading money in the ATM, recording ATM deposits, reconciliation of pay order issued and many more.
