School Farewell Speech

Farewells are never easy most importantly when there is an emotional attachment between the person who is saying goodbye and the audience or person being said goodbye to. School graduation, for example, may be one of the happiest events in a school year but since it involves parting of ways, it becomes heartbreaking. Even though graduations are concrete materialization of success, it still spells goodbye for most students since students are bound to leave their alma mater. For this reason, school farewell speeches have become a tradition for almost all schools. This farewell speech includes the most important things that should be said before students graduate.
Important things to remember when making a school farewell speech
The purpose of a school farewell speech is to look back to the things a student has achieved during his stay in the school and deliberately thank the institution for molding his aspirations. It also seeks to show a sneak peek of what lies ahead for all the graduating students. Normally, the speech includes anecdotes, memorable quotations from teachers and favorite events in a school year. Basically, the speech may become emotional since it includes looking back to special memories. But certainly, funny stories should also take part in the speech as this may lessen the pain of goodbye and ease the burden. Proverbs and famous quotations are also good springboards for a farewell speech. Although, it’s a must that the speech’s theme is preserved all throughout so that there will be no misunderstanding along the way.
It’s important to remember that no matter how beautifully made a school farewell speech is, if there is no personal touch to its content, it would be bland.
