Fast food is starting to be a major issue for people these days. It is the lazy part of their lives and their physique and personal health is being affected. It has become so easy for people to consume fast food because society has made it feel alright to do. The only way to solve this problem is to rethink one’s diet plan and to choose a healthier alternative. In today’s lifestyle, everyone tries to fit as much as possible into a day’s work, so fast food is usually a part of their life.

Fast food takes a large toll on the human body. The majority of the consumers of fast food are within the ages of 16-24. Young people these days are not as active as they used to be due to getting other things done faster so they can have more leisure time. That time is generally spent watching television, on the computer, or playing video games. When people eat fast food as a meal they are not getting the proper nutrients their body needs. Just like when a car does not get a proper oil change it will start to seize up, like the human body will after not getting those nutrients. Even though society is gradually conforming to the ways of fast food, people should fight it to stand up for the healthy ways of living.

Societies do not know it but they are being overrun by unfit and unhealthy North Americans. Fast food is winning the battle against the gyms and healthy food stores. People need to learn how to balance out their eating habits. It is alright for some people to eat fast food or something unhealthy every once in a while, but not to have that type of food as their main nutrition supply. There are plenty of healthy alternatives, but fast food is everywhere. Only strong individuals can shy away from those massive, juicy, delicious Big Mac billboards.

Fast food is an exploding industry. It is difficult for a North American to turn it down. Almost every street corner is occupied by a McDonald’s, Tim Horton’s, or a Wendy’s....
