College Applications Essay Cameron Demers

Ever since I could remember starting the college selection process, I’ve always wanted to attend UAlbany. UAlbany offers a whole variety of majors and has a reputation for high quality courses in the Law field that very much interests me. I have not declared a major at this time but I am currently taking College Prep II. , Physics, Pre-Calculus, Modern Literature, Participation In Government and Economics H. I also took a computer Graphics course, an E-Commerce course, and also a Business Law course so as you can tell I am actively searching for what I would like to study in college and eventually pursue in a career.
In Business Law I was in a “Life Smarts” competition that was about Consumer Sciences and received a letter from Senator Joseph L. Bruno commending me for qualifying for the New York State Finals Competition held on March 18th, 2008. I also in the spring of 2008 received an award from Charles Schwab for scoring in the top 25th percentile of all high school students taking the National Financial Literacy Challenge.
My current interests include football, basketball, reading, music, and technology. Should I be accepted into UAlbany I will not only work hard for academic success but also participate in extracurricular activities as well. I will show my enthusiasm for the school by trying out for the football team and a look at a few intramural sports because it is proven if you are involved in a sport your tend to be more organized and more disciplined than people outside of sports. The UAlbany Great Danes Basketball, Football and Lacrosse teams have all been pretty successful in recent years and I believe that is because of commitment and determination from not only the players, and coaches, but also from the whole student body.
