It was the time of the year again where all students are waiting for. No more books, classes, early mornings and even those stressful exams. Yes it is the year end school break. My friends and I have been looking forward toward this time all year long. That means, we had planned the entire holidays since the very beginning of the year. We have all the details written down and planned out in our mind.
When the tenth of November 2007 finally arrived, we were all packed and ready to head to our dream destination, Pulau Pangkor. On that morning, Mr. Yong picked us all up from our respective houses and drove us to the Pudu Bus Station. We got there just on time to board our bus which will take us to our destination. It was a pleasant journey. We slept all the way there as we wanted to conserve energy for a day full of vigorous activities at the beach.
The moment we reach the beach, we were awestricken by the breathtaking beauty of the beach. We did not expect the beach to be so clean. It was as if the beach has not been explored before. It was a virgin beach. The sand was as white as snow. The palm trees softly swaying along the border of the beach. I can taste the salt in the air and the sun reflects off the water in brilliant colours of gold, blue and red, just like the rainbow.
Kumaran, Amin and I set up our blanket on a nice shaded corner below a palm tree. We sat down below the tree, ordered some coconut drinks and just sit there taking in the beauty of nature. The clear blue sky with birds soared over head searching for food and once in a while a bird would get lucky and snatch a fish from the water, the scenery was all laid out like an exotic nature drawing in an art gallery. Everything on Pangkor beach has its own unique feel and it has its own way of making you feel calm and relaxed.
Kumaran and Amin suggested that we should have a game of beach volley ball. I refused as I did not have enough of the beauty of the beach yet....
