As the United Stated economy is slowly trying to recover, tons of jobs are still being lost daily as many more are also being created. Even though there are many factors that give a look at how the economy is doing, a factor one should carefully examine before making such a decision is the unemployment rate. Unemployment rate also has different factors that determine the rate. Many workers are losing their jobs because they do not have the current technological skills. Others are loosing their jobs due to moving over seas, however since the actual unemployment rats is difficult to measure accurately the rate can easily incline and decline.
With the American economy recover, it is still causing the unemployment rate to rise dramatically. Unemployment rate is a big issue since some people seem to think they can stay unemployed and on welfare for their whole life and get a fair amount of money from our government. By getting the proper education and applying for a job the unemployment rate had a good chance of decreasing a fair amount. Permanent unemployment is bad. It’s bad for people, its bad for business and industry, its bad for productivity and therefore prosperity.
Some citizens believe that even though the current unemployment rate is only six percent that still is not good considering how many people that here are in the United Stated of America. That is over six million remaining unemployed. The unemployment rate was 6.1 percent up four tenths of a point since July 2008. This was the worst reading since March 2004.
A low unemployment rate should be a policy objective, and when unemployment rate is high it should be seen a failure of government policy. However this does not mean that government cannot help. They could provide agencies for those in transition, career development plans, and counseling assistance if needed.
