Fashion
Although you can know a lot about a person by the way they dress, you cannot judge people by the typical stereotypes. The way a person chooses to dress can give you a better idea of the type of person they are. People tend to dress in more appropriate attire when the occasion calls for it. You will not see people in their streets clothes walking in for a job interview and you will not see a group of friends playing football in a dress shirt and tie. There are many things that appearance can determine.
There is a phrase often said about first impressions, “A person cannot judge a book by its cover.” This statement applies to people’s appearance and the kind of person he or she is. You cannot judge someone because of they way the dress, the clothes they wear, or the color of their attire. Everyone has a certain style of fashion they prefer. Many people choose to dress the way their friends, family, or even co-workers do. Fashion in today’s world consumes a large amount of one’s income, time, and effort to try and “fit in.”
People of all ages, sizes, and race care how they look. Most people will say that if they dress a certain way or wear expensive clothes they will feel better about themselves. Some people use fashion as a way to express themselves without having to speak their opinion. People with money tend to dress in a different way than you would see someone struggling to find money for a second outfit. People often adapt to the fashion of the area and environment in which they live. The way you dress can affect the way you feel, treat others, and the way you react to certain situations.
You will never see people dressed for a certain job doing something they are not suited to do. Bill Gates doesn’t show up to work in football pads and Reggie Bush doesn’t go to football practice in a suit and tie. Fashion can affect one’s performance and outcome.
