An essay on Neptune, explaining in depth how the planet functions at social, physical and psychological levels.

The Planet Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. It is also known as the Blue Giant.
Neptune is the fourth and outermost of the gas giant planets and also has rings. In Greek
mythology Neptune was the god of the Sea, shown by the trident which is used as its glyph.
From an Astrological perspective, Neptune rules the 12th House, and is the co-ruler of Pisces,
(Jupiter being the traditional ruler), and its energy is expressed through symbolic language, music
and the imagination. It rules the oppressed and abandoned, society’s misfits. However, it also
represents spirituality, mysticism and ideals. Its house position and sign will indicate what areas
of life are subject to imagination and where it is possible that delusions can be experienced.
Strong aspects to the personal planets will increase its influence. For example, Liz Greene says
of Sun conjunct Neptune: “ Neptune's empathy with human suffering and longing marks the Sun-
Neptune individual's creative endeavours with a quality of universality; he or she can
communicate in a language everyone understands.”
In this essay I am going to cover how Neptune functions on social, physical and psychological levels.
Social
Neptune takes 165 years to orbit the Sun and spends around 14 years in each sign, so it is what
is called as a generational planet, as it encompasses a whole generation of people. Its influence is
