The Democratic and Republican parties are two major contemporary political parties in the United States. The Democratic party is the oldest political party in unremitting operation in the United States, it also one of the oldest parties in the World. The Republican party is currently the second largest, with 55 million registered voters as of 2004, obtaining roughly one-third of the electorate.
Though both parties represent significant purposes, I believe I sway more towards the Democratic Party. Our country was founded on the grounds of freedom. Without freedom, there would be nothing to “America”. Amongst the things Freedom provides a foundation for are; FREEDOM of religion, FREEDOM of speech, FREEDOM of press, and most importantly FREE will. Do you notice how “free” or “freedom” come before the words? Freedom is the foundation of America, period, dot, the end. As you may have inferred by now, I am an avid believer in Freedom. People are different, honestly. Not everyone was born in warm, welcoming cozy cottage out in the woods with the most loving parents. It’s reality, face it. However, the Democratic party suggests more help to the middle-class, less fortunate of people. Which in this day of age, with the way or Economy is going, shouldn’t it be that way to begin with? Yeah, that’s what I thought. The elderly will continue needed social security. I am most certain that you know of an Elderly who lives mainly off of their Social Security. Same ordeal with Healthcare. Did you know healthcare in Canada is cheap-to-free? Yet we’re suppose to be the “top dog” country? Republicans believe the Government should have more influence on Society. That we should in return give up freedoms that we are entitled to by the Constitution. I say %@#$ the Government. We are all individuals, we all have a story to tell, we all deserve...
