ACUPUNCTURE


Acupuncture is a type of Chinese Medicine that serves as treatment or healing to ailments from the most common to more complicated ones. It seems that it has been in existence for a few thousand years, and for some people as well as the Chinese people it is one of the most reliable form of natural medicine used today, despite of the advancements of western medicine and technology.


According to this system of healing it consists of needles applied on the surface of the skin at meridian lines where life forces flow.
It relies upon the body's natural wisdom to heal itself, and each person is treated on an individual basis because no to people are alike. Western medicine focuses on suppressing symptoms, which prevent the body from mobilizing its own healing energy.
For some of us this may seem very intimidating to imagine ourselves at the acupuncturist with about a dozen or more needles stuck on the body.
I think that most of us western people, would prefer to take a couple of pills here and there and get by with the problem, or even spend some money at the doctor's office for a temporary relief while getting some injected medication in our system.
Would this be so because we're not well informed of alternative forms of medicine? If you were told about something that is guaranteed to be harmless and effective with no side effects and that leaves you without dependency, wouldn't you give it some consideration?
It may give you some comfort of mind to know that the size of an acupuncture needle is approximately the diameter of a human hair; much thinner than a regular needle. Also, the needle is solid, with no holes and nothing is injected in the body.
