Mother’s day has reminded of a very tragic time in my childhood. One very beautiful spring morning I ran up to my mother and said I loved her. She told me that after awhile we were going to my grandmothers. I was extremely exited, got myself dressed and went outside to play basketball with my friend Darrell. He told me how our friends were going swimming and he was going with them. A little while later my mother called me and said it was time to go. After I got to my grandmothers, everyone started grilling out. Then my friend Mike and I started throwing a Frisbee. When I started smelling the food, we went over and ate some hamburgers. Sometime during dinner we heard a helicopter go over. I heard my mother say it was Air care. For some reason I did not look up to see it, as I normally would. A couple hours later, it was time to leave so we got everyone together and headed off. As we pulled up the gravel drive way, all my friends ran up to the car. They were very nervous saying that Darrell was swimming in the lake and went under. I was so upset that I ran off into the woods crying. My mother ran after me telling me that he might be ok. Late that night his parents were pulling up the drive way, I went out the back door to see if he was ok. They told me that he had died. They were so upset every time that I think about Mothers day these terrible emotions come into my head.
